Circuit Training vs Weight Training - Different Methods for Different Goals
Its obvious that there are many, many different ways to train. Different workout programs, different cardio regimens, different reps, etc. The two most popular are Circuit training, training at different stations in timed intervals; and basic weight training, a planned routine for different body parts through the course of a week. Both are excellent training methods, but they both can be used to obtain different goals. The biggest benefit that circuit training has to offer is that in a predetermined amount of time, you train the entire body. This means that more calories will be burned and the muscles will be trained on a more regular basis. This is an IDEAL method for someone who wants to tone up and maybe lose a few pounds and bring out their natural muscle tone. The key to circuit training is intesity. You want to keep a reletively high heart rate and keep it constant while training different muscle groups. Weight training on the other hand, is most beneficial to someone wanting to bulk or sculpt. There are so many different training variations to be used in a weight training program. Someone wanting to add muscle mass would benefit by choosing 1-2 body parts to train in one day and focus completely on that/those muscle's. Doing this does burn calories, but mostly tears down the muscles that are being trained so they can recover and heal after the workout to become bigger and stronger for future workouts. So depending on your goals, you should take a good look at the different types of training methods out there. With a little experience in the gym and with working out, incorporating both methods in weekly or monthly intervals can help you to see even better results.
