Drinking More Water Can Help You Burn More Fat
Your main goal in accomplishing your fitness goals is to increase your metabolism while keeping as much muscle as you can. The liver is where fat metablization happens. One of the liver's duties is to pick up the slack for the kidneys, which need plenty of water to work properly. If the kidneys are water-deprived, the liver has to do their work along with its own, lowering its total productivity. It then can't metabolize fat as quickly or efficiently as it could when the kidneys were pulling their own weight. If you allow this to happen, not only are you being unfair to your liver, but you're also setting yourself up to store fat. While it's always in your best interest to stay hydrated, most people don't trink nearly as much water as they should. Doctors say 8 glasses of water a day. Yay, good thing that covers every body type. Leading fitness experts say that you should drink half of your bodyweight (in oz) per day. So a 200lbs man would want to drink at least 100 oz of water every day (roughly 12.5 eight oz bottles of water). Sound like a bit much? It's true that drinking water so much everyday can get boring or even get you to the point where you can't take another sip. Not an uncommon problem at all, but the solution is very very simple. For one, more than likely, you are into fitness and working out so you already know you can drink plenty of water at the gym. If you see that guy carrying around a milk jug full of water and think he's crazy, think again! As for flavor, you can go to your local grocery store and pick up some packs of water powders. These come in MANY different flavors and are usually calorie free and can also be found sugar free. They add just a little flavor to your water to keep it interesting without adding calories or sugar in your diet.
